Remodeling and rebuilding mature skin often poses special problems based a person's individual needs, skin type, and past skin damage. The recommendations below are based on reports from our clients, skincare professionals, salons, spas, and, clinics. The special problems of mature skin include: 

1. Drier skin
Drier, less oily skin that sometimes produces eczema. This is due to less oil production by the skin, harsh cleansers that remove the skin's protective "acid mantle", excessive water evaporation due to a damaged skin barrier, and a reduction inside the skin of the water-holding proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans. 

2. Thinner, more fragile skin
Skin thins naturally during aging but often is damaged by the overuse of cortisone (or other corticosteroids) or excessive use of acid peels, lasers, or dermabrasion. 

3. Wrinkles and less skin elasticity and firmness
Skin remodeling processes that remove damage collagen and elastin and replace it with new molecules slow down with age.

	Damaged Skin Barrier Leaks Moisture. Cosmetic oil/water "moisturizers" can worsen this damage. 4. Around the Eyes	Skin around the eyes often has heavy damage. It is very thin and suffers further damage from color cosmetics and make-up removers.	Damage can be reversed but this is a difficult area. Use progressively stronger copper peptide products. 5. Skin Blemishes, Sun Damage, Age Spots, Moles, and Scars	Various types of skin damage	Most skin lesions can be slowly reduced with hydroxy acids and strong copper peptides but the process is slow.
